Esta ya la conocía. ¿Y Pando? Nunca lo he usado y no está soportado por mldonkey, giFT ni nada que yo tenga en mis repositorios, pero tiene muy buena fama.

Pero en argentina( de donde soy),no prendio mucho.

en make install pones:
sudo make install
Fíjate si el error ni viene de antes, porque es raro que el error radique allí, puede venir de la configuración o la compilación.
Por favor si alguien lo realizo y le funcionó que lo comente también.

no, el error me lo tira en el make, si hago make install solo tira errores

tengo el mismo error que leandrox, y he seguido el manual al pie de la letra y sin lugar a dudas, he hecho todo como dice ahi. y sin embargo me sale lo mismo que a el. he bajado el paquete del gift ares varia veces y no resulta la instalacion, en ubuntu feisty,¿ en que version de ubuntu lo probaron?

yo la probé en 7.04 y 7.10 y anduvo, por las dudas instala libgiftproto
sudo apt-get install libgiftproto
e intenta volver a realizar los pasos de configure en adelante

¿Por qué “sudo apt-get install gift giftcurs giftd giftui libgift0 libgiftproto0 libgnutella-gift libopenft-gift”?
Con poner sudo “apt-get install gift”, el resto se instala automáticamente!
Leandrox, ahí no sale ningun error. Prueba copiando desde donde ponga “error:”

Lo que dice DiThi es evidente, Debian/Ubuntu ya manejan las dependencias, con instalar el programa principal (gift) es suficiente.
Después dices: “Para compilarlo es necesario tener instalados: xxx yyy zzz. Se encuentran fácilmente en el gestor de paquetes synaptics.”. ¡Y todavía más fácilmente con un apt-get, tal como muestras unas líneas más arriba! Si sabes el nombre de paquetes no tiene sentido recurrir a Synaptic.
Por último: Las líneas “./configure” y “make” NO necesitas ejecutarlas con sudo (y no deberías hacerlo, ya que quedarán ficheros en el directorio de usuario pertenecientes a root). “make install” es el único comando que necesita sudo.

En este caso intenté hacer le configure y el make sin sudo y daba un error de permisos, esto me significó un tercer sudo al momento de borrar la carpeta en donde compile

Hola:
El plugin de la red Ares para giFT, en qué directorio hay que instalarlo? Lo instalé todo pero al arrancar giFToxic dice que no estoy conectado, y no sé si será cosa de este directorio por el que pregunto, porque lo tengo instalado en mi directorio personal en home

Lo instalé, funciona, se conecta, ¿pero como bajo algo? es decir realizo una búsqueda luego veo el archivo a descargar, le hago doble click y no pasa nada. Podría alguien ayudarme?

por fin pude instalrlo completamente, pero con el paqute tar.gz no se puede en ubuntu feisty, se tine que convertir a deb con el alien para poder hacerlo.
el problema ahora es que no descarga nada , si se conecta a la red , halla los archivos pero no los descarga, se conecta por el puerto 1213.
el ares con wine me descrgaba todo,incluso peliculas de 700mb.
¿como puedo, hacerle para que me descargue?

perdon se me olvido decir que , ledoy clic derecho y luego descargar , pero no descraga nada , las transferencias, permancen sin conectarse.

Ya lo solucioné, lo que pasa es que si descarga pero giFTui no muestra nada en la pestaña descargas, giFToxic si lo hace, por eso te recomiendo que no uses giFTui, mejor usa giFToxic que funciona de 10.
Ahora el problema es que cuando termina de descargar un archivo lo comienza a descargar de nuevo, por eso hay que fijarse o sino termina bajando hasta 6 veces el mismo archivo

A mi también me ha pasado de que se descarga varias veces el mismo archivo, son errores que todavía hay que corregir, al igual que poder hacer búsquedas dentro de búsquedas, mejorar la compartición de archivos, agregar algún reproductor para vista previa, etc. Cosas que son muy útiles.

Ufff!!!
Esto no es para mi.
No me resultó nada… por más que lo hice lentamente.
Al final lo instalé con wine y no tengo problemas.

gracias compadre, lo intenté instalar de acuerdo a esta guía pero no me resultó, no me dejaba ejecutar corectamente esa parte del gift-setup, la cuestión es que usé el script hecho en base a esta guía por “chato” y se instaló pero no se conecta, crees que tenga algo que ver con que mi pc tiene ip nateada?

hola ! hice todo lo que esta en tu tutorial y puedo ver que estoy conectado con el giFTui pero no me conecta el giFToxic. Porque será esto ?? Otra de las cosas es que cuando quiero buscar un archivo en giFTui no encuentra ninguno pone como que esta buscando pero nunca termina de buscar. A que se deberá esto ?? Tengo ubuntu ComFusion (7.04 con compiz-fusion) tengo ip estatica no dinamica, de que manera podria configurar los archivos para poder este sistema !!?? seria lo unico que me falta para terminar de mudarme al maravilloso Ubuntu !!

Hugo …..el problema es la configuracion del demonio, te recomiendo que ejecutes gift-setup desde el terminal. Luego con el editor de texto abre el archivo giftd.conf que se encuentra en /home/usuario/.giFT/giftd.conf. Luego comparalo con el mio:

Con giFT puedes usar software nativo de GNU/Linux para la red de Ares:
